These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Caption My Video. By using the site or purchasing paid access, you agree to these Terms and acknowledge our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
#Eligibility
You must meet the applicable minimum age: [MINIMUM USER AGE REQUIRED]. If you use the service for an organization, you represent that you have authority to accept these Terms for it.
#Product description
Caption My Video is a browser-based caption-creation tool. It supports local media processing, transcript and caption editing, styling, and SRT export. Results and availability depend on your browser, device memory, file format, processing power, and the source audio. Captioned-video export is offered only where that feature is available in the product.
Automated transcription is not guaranteed to be accurate or suitable for every use.
#Local-processing responsibility
Your project may be lost when the page reloads or the tab closes. Download outputs before leaving, keep your original files, and do not treat the service as cloud backup. Device and browser performance can affect processing.
#Accounts, free, and paid services
No account is required for the current free editor. The Free plan includes three successful caption generations per browser, along with caption editing, custom fonts, and SRT downloads. The free-use count is a soft browser-based trial mechanism and may reset if browser state is cleared. Where paid access is offered, access may be connected to a Dodo-issued license key, anonymous device activation, customer record, or signed entitlement. Paid access includes unlimited caption generations subject to fair use. Prices, included features, and any taxes are shown before purchase. Pricing may change prospectively.
#Dodo Payments and Merchant of Record
Qualifying transactions are processed by Dodo Payments, which acts as Merchant of Record and may appear as the seller on receipts or statements. Dodo Payments may administer payment methods, tax calculation and collection, invoices, fraud checks, disputes, and chargebacks. Checkout is also governed by Dodo Payments’ Buyer Terms and Privacy Policy. Caption My Video does not directly charge or store your complete payment-card details. Your videos, audio, transcripts, captions, filenames, and custom fonts are not sent to Dodo Payments for activation or billing.
#Subscriptions, where offered
If a product is offered on a subscription basis, the billing interval, price, renewal terms, and cancellation information will be shown at checkout. Subscriptions may renew until cancelled. Management, billing history, and cancellation may be available through Dodo Payments’ customer portal where configured. Cancellation timing, continued access, failed payment handling, and any partial-period credit depend on the checkout configuration and applicable law: [CONFIRM DODO SUBSCRIPTION CANCELLATION CONFIGURATION].
#One-time and lifetime purchases, where offered
A one-time purchase or lifetime offer is available only if presented at checkout. “Lifetime” means the commercial lifetime of the relevant product or plan, not the customer’s lifetime. It does not promise perpetual operation or indefinite support and remains subject to discontinuation, law, material platform changes, abuse, and these Terms.
#Refund and cancellation summary
Caption My Video has a strict no-refunds policy: purchases are nonrefundable except where a refund is required by applicable law. This does not limit non-waivable statutory consumer rights. Duplicate or unauthorized charges should be reported promptly to hello@divvsaxena.com with the email used for purchase and relevant order details.
To cancel a subscription, use the Dodo Payments customer portal where available or contact support before the next renewal. Dodo Payments processes payments and any legally required or otherwise approved refund through the original payment method. Cancellation, refund handling, and chargeback processes may also be governed by Dodo Payments’ checkout terms and applicable law.
#User content and responsibilities
You retain ownership of your videos, audio, transcripts, captions, and exports. Caption My Video does not claim ownership of that content. You grant only the limited technical permission needed to process content locally on your device; no server-upload license is needed for normal editor processing.
You must have the necessary rights and consents for material you use, including rights relating to video, audio, music, voices, likenesses, trademarks, copyright, personal data, privacy, and publicity.
#Prohibited use
Do not use the service for unlawful material, infringement, malware, abusive automated access, attempts to compromise infrastructure, bypassing payment restrictions, unauthorized resale, unlawful surveillance, non-consensual intimate material, exploitation of minors, impersonation, or fraud. Do not reverse engineer the service except where applicable law expressly permits it.
#Accuracy and transcription limitations
Captions may contain errors. Accents, noise, music, overlapping speakers, language support, and audio quality can affect results. Review captions before publication. Caption My Video is not a certified accessibility-captioning service and is not suitable for legally exact transcription without human review.
#Availability, changes, and intellectual property
We may update, maintain, impose reasonable technical limits on, or discontinue features. We do not promise uninterrupted availability. The software, Caption My Video brand, logo, Poppy mascot, visual assets, and site content belong to us or our licensors. Your content remains yours.
We may use feedback you voluntarily send us to improve the service without acquiring ownership of your unrelated content.
#Third-party services
Dodo Payments, hosting providers, browser vendors, public model providers, and external links are third parties governed by their own terms and policies. We are not responsible for their independent services.
#Disclaimers and limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of uninterrupted, error-free, or fit-for-every-purpose operation. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
To the extent permitted by law, neither party’s liability is excluded for fraud, willful misconduct, or other liability that cannot legally be limited. Any remaining liability cap requires legal review: [CHOOSE LIABILITY CAP]; [CONFIRM WHETHER CAP IS FEES PAID IN PREVIOUS 12 MONTHS].
#Indemnity, suspension, and termination
To the extent permitted by law, you will indemnify us against third-party claims arising from your unlawful use of the service, infringement of others’ rights, or material breach of these Terms. We may suspend or terminate access for non-payment, fraud, security threats, abuse, prohibited conduct, or legal requirements. Locally held files remain on your device; export or retain them before ending use where possible.
#Governing law, notices, and changes
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Subject to applicable law, disputes will be handled by courts in India. Caption My Video is operated by Divv Saxena. Mandatory consumer rights in your country remain unaffected.
Payment receipts and service notices may be delivered electronically. We may update these Terms by posting a dated version. We will not apply material changes retroactively where prohibited by law.
